Residents of Red Cloud, Nebraska, were able to address US Senate candidate Dan Osborn directly during a public townhall on Thursday, Oct. 1, after newly leaked audio from last year showed the Independent candidate using crude language to describe support for President Donald Trump in rural America.
“Billy Bob in f—king Red Cloud, Nebraska, who lives next to the f—king Trump store as you pull into town and is waving the flag, all he knows is that he’s on the winning team,” Osborn said in the the leaked audio. “And that’s all they care about, because their lives probably suck so f—king bad.”
“ I should have chose my words definitely better,” Osborn told the crowd when asked why he singled out Red Cloud. ”It comes from a place of [things] getting harder for a lot of folks.”
