Nebraska For Us warns 50% of people losing SNAP due to GOP tax law are children


Angie Lauritsen — a former Gretna City Council member and 2022 Democratic candidate for the Nebraska Legislature — says the state’s SNAP enrollment has fallen nearly 17% since Republicans passed their sweeping tax law, leaving more families without help paying for groceries. Lauritsen argues the decline was intentional, with new restrictions and administrative barriers making it harder for eligible Nebraskans to keep the benefits they need.
