Sen. Dan Quick says SNAP, Medicaid cuts could fuel domestic violence

Nebraska State Sen. Dan Quick said on KSNB that inflation and cuts to SNAP and Medicaid will put more financial pressure on families already struggling with high costs, adding to the kinds of stress that contribute directly to domestic violence. Quick has repeatedly pushed to preserve SNAP access in Nebraska. He introduced legislation in 2025 aimed at preventing the state’s expanded SNAP eligibility threshold from dropping from 165% to 130% of the federal poverty level.
