Candidates for the University of Nebraska Board of Regents in District 4 participated in a public candidate forum on Monday, Oct. 19, hosted by the League of Women Voters of Greater Omaha. Justin Solomon, a former student regent and executive at Integrated Life Choices, and Susanne Shore, a registered nurse and former first lady of Nebraska under then-Gov. Pete Ricketts, were asked: “Why should we vote for you over your opponent?” The candidates, both registered Democrats, are running in a special election to replace former regent Elizabeth O’Connor, who resigned this year after being charged with DUI following a May 2025 crash that caused serious bodily injury. The general election is Nov. 3.
