Nebraska independent Senate candidate Dan Osborn addressed leaked audio in which he disparaged some rural Trump supporters, saying on Pod Save America that the remarks came from “a place of anger” and that he regrets “saying that in the way I said it.” In the recording reported by the Omaha World-Herald, Osborn described a hypothetical Trump supporter as caring primarily about being on the “winning team” and said their lives “probably f*****g suck.” Osborn defended his statements, expressing regret and clarifying that his remarks were meant to reflect the broad anger Trump voters are feeling. Osborn is running as an independent in Nebraska’s 2026 Senate race against Republican Pete Ricketts. There is no Democratic nominee on the general-election ballot.
