Dan Osborn pushes for legislation protecting railroad workers and riders

U.S. Senate candidate Dan Osborn is calling out Sen. Pete Ricketts for not supporting the Railway Safety Act, after Ricketts received more than $350,000 in contributions from executives and political committees associated with major rail companies, including Union Pacific, BNSF, Norfolk Southern and CSX, as well as the Association of American Railroads. The Railway Safety Act would require freight trains to have at least two crew members, strengthen requirements for wayside defect detectors, provide more time for safety inspections and improve reporting on hazardous materials transported by rail.
