Lincoln City Council chairman demands answer amid petition fraud investigation

Lincoln City Council chairman Brodey Weber posed a series of questions Thursday, Aug. 13, to organizers with the petition campaign Good Government Lincoln. The group is currently embroiled in what Weber called possibly “ the largest petition fraud case in Nebraska history.”

At the start of August, after reviewing over 30,000 signatures, the Lancaster County Election Commission rejected more than 65% of them for several reasons, one being suspected fraud, referring the investigation to local law enforcement. Weber demanded these questions and concerns be addressed as Good Government Lincoln has relaunched their signature collection efforts.
