Memo from Nebraska Governor calls for state agency cuts, hiring freeze


A memo issued last week by Nebraska Gov. Jim Pillen calls for state agencies to cut spending by 5% and freeze hiring for most positions — and it’s only one of several major stories unfolding this week in Nebraska politics. Courier Nebraska spoke with Justin Hubly, executive director of the Nebraska Association of Public Employees, who called the memo “disappointing.”
