Chris Backemeyer, the Democratic nominee for Nebraska’s 1st Congressional District, will face off against incumbent Rep. Mike Flood (R) this fall with support from the Nebraska Farmers Union PAC. It’s the first time in 20 years that a Democrat in NE-01 has netted the group’s sole endorsement, last received by Maxine Moul in 2006.
