Nebraska election chief lays out reforms for petition process in wake of massive fraud case

Nebraska Secretary of State Bob Evnen joined Gov. Jim Pillen and county election officials Thursday, Sept. 3, to preview new legislation aimed at deterring fraud in petition campaigns. The announcement comes after election officials rejected thousands of signatures collected for several Good Government Lincoln charter amendment petitions because of suspected fraud. The investigation has led to six out-of-state arrests.
