Sen. Ricketts dodges whether Iran war is worth soaring fuel prices

Nebraska Sen. Pete Ricketts acknowledged that soaring fuel costs are squeezing families, farmers and ranchers across his state — but stopped short of answering when CNN’s Dana Bash asked whether those costs are “worth the sacrifice” amid the Iran war. Nebraska diesel was averaging $6.12 a gallon, according to the AAA figure cited by CNN. Pressed again on the burden of higher diesel, fuel and fertilizer prices, Ricketts said much of the increase is tied to the Iran war and argued that Iran cannot be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon.
